Care & Data Safety Policy

Effective Date: 02-May-2026

Last Updated: 02-May-2026

This Care & Data Safety Policy explains how Pet Note should be used, what it is not, and how we think about protecting the care records you trust us with. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. Pet Note Is Not Veterinary Advice

Pet Note is a pet care organisation app. It helps you keep notes, dates, reminders, photos, receipts, documents, and care history in one place. It is not a veterinary clinic, veterinary telehealth service, emergency service, medical device, diagnostic tool, pharmacy, insurer, or substitute for a qualified veterinarian.

Anything shown in Pet Note, including summaries, labels, reminders, trends, AI-supported outputs, care prompts, or suggested questions, is provided for general organisation only. It is not veterinary advice, diagnosis, treatment advice, medication guidance, emergency advice, nutrition advice, insurance advice, or a professional opinion.

2. Always Use Professional Judgment

You are responsible for reviewing anything you enter into Pet Note and anything Pet Note helps organise or generate. Information may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, based on outdated records, or affected by errors in the information provided.

Before making decisions about diagnosis, treatment, medication, dosage, symptoms, behaviour, nutrition, preventive care, insurance, or any matter affecting a pet's health or safety, speak with a qualified veterinarian or other appropriate professional.

3. Emergencies

If you believe a pet may be sick, injured, poisoned, distressed, deteriorating, or in danger, contact a veterinarian, emergency animal hospital, poison hotline, or local emergency service immediately. Do not wait for Pet Note, a reminder, an AI feature, a care summary, or a support reply.

4. Reminders and Care Records

Reminders and care records are convenience tools only. Delivery may be affected by device settings, operating system behaviour, notification permissions, battery settings, time zone changes, internet connectivity, outages, app updates, or information entered incorrectly.

Keep independent copies of important records, including vaccination certificates, prescriptions, emergency instructions, insurance documents, receipts, and any other information you may need outside Pet Note.

5. AI-Supported Features

Pet Note may include AI-supported features that help organise notes, summarise records, identify possible patterns, draft suggested questions, or prepare care briefs. AI outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate for your pet's circumstances.

You must review AI outputs before saving, sharing, or acting on them. AI outputs should be treated as a starting point for organisation and discussion, not as a decision-maker.

6. Our Data Safety Commitment

We take the privacy and security of Pet Note records seriously. We design Pet Note with the goal of protecting personal information, pet care records, photos, notes, receipts, documents, and account information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

We use reasonable technical, organisational, and operational measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the Service. These may include access controls, authentication safeguards, secure service providers, private storage rules, monitoring, backups, and careful handling of support requests.

No app, website, database, cloud service, device, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We will continue to review and improve our practices as Pet Note grows, technology changes, and risks evolve.

7. Your Role in Keeping Data Safe

You can help protect your records by keeping your email account and devices secure, using trusted sign-in methods, updating your operating system and app, controlling device access, and being careful about what you upload or share.

Please do not enter information that is not needed for pet care organisation, such as passwords, full payment card details, government identity numbers, or sensitive information about other people unless you have the right to provide it.

8. What This Policy Does Not Replace

This policy does not replace our Privacy Policy or Terms of Service. The Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and protected. The Terms of Service explain the rules that apply when using Pet Note.
