These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Pet Note, including the Pet Note mobile application, website, account services, support channels, and related features (collectively, the "Service").
In these Terms, "Pet Note," "we," "us," and "our" mean Wondertree. "You" means the person who accesses or uses the Service.
By downloading, installing, creating an account, accessing, or using Pet Note, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About Pet Note
Pet Note is a pet care organisation app designed to help users record, manage, and review pet-related information. The Service may include features such as pet profiles, care timelines, reminders, local notifications, notes, photos, receipts, vet details, insurance details, microchip details, vaccination records, passport-style summaries, care insights, and account settings.
Pet Note is intended for personal and household pet care record-keeping. It is not intended for commercial veterinary record management unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
2. Not Veterinary Advice
Pet Note is not a veterinary clinic, veterinary telehealth service, medical device, diagnostic tool, pharmacy, insurer, or emergency service.
Any information, reminder, care summary, trend, score, suggestion, label, or prompt shown in Pet Note is provided for general organisational purposes only. It may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or based on information you entered incorrectly.
You must always seek advice from a qualified veterinarian or other appropriate professional before making decisions about diagnosis, treatment, medication, dosage, nutrition, preventive care, emergency care, symptoms, behaviour, or any matter affecting a pet's health or safety.
If you believe a pet may be sick, injured, poisoned, distressed, deteriorating, or in danger, contact a veterinarian, emergency animal hospital, poison hotline, or local emergency service immediately. Do not delay professional care because of anything shown or omitted by Pet Note.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use Pet Note.
If you are under 18, you must not create an account or use Pet Note unless a parent or legal guardian creates or manages the account and is responsible for your use of the Service.
Pet Note is not directed to children under 13. You must not create an account for a child under 13 or knowingly provide personal information from a child under 13 through the Service.
4. Accounts
You may need an account to use some or all features of Pet Note. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account, device, login links, authentication sessions, and sign-in providers. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

5. User Content and Pet Records
You may submit, upload, store, or create information in Pet Note, including pet names, photos, dates of birth, weights, vet records, symptoms, notes, costs, receipts, reminders, vaccination details, insurance details, microchip details, and other content ("User Content").
You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, adapt, and use your User Content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve Pet Note.
You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of your User Content. Pet Note does not verify your records, confirm veterinary instructions, validate insurance coverage, or guarantee that uploaded documents are complete or readable.
You should keep independent copies of important records. Pet Note should not be your only storage location for vaccination certificates, prescriptions, emergency instructions, insurance documents, receipts, or other important pet care records.
6. Marketing, Media, and Testimonials
We may use Pet Note's name, branding, app screens, example records, sample data, anonymised information, aggregated statistics, and de-identified insights for marketing, media, product demonstrations, investor materials, app store listings, social media, website content, and similar promotional purposes.
We will not use your private pet records, identifiable pet photos, personal details, veterinary records, insurance details, microchip details, receipts, private notes, or other identifiable User Content in public marketing or media without your separate permission.
If you choose to provide feedback, reviews, testimonials, images, quotes, case studies, or other material for marketing or media purposes, you grant us permission to use, edit, reproduce, publish, display, and share that material in connection with Pet Note, unless we agree otherwise in writing. You can contact us if you want to withdraw future use of identifiable marketing material you previously approved.
We may use public app store reviews, public social media posts that mention Pet Note, and public feedback in a reasonable way for product and promotional purposes, subject to the rules of the platform where that content appears. We will not present you as endorsing Pet Note in a way you did not agree to.
7. Reminders and Notifications
Pet Note may allow you to create reminders and receive local or device notifications. These features are convenience tools only.
Notification delivery may be affected by device settings, operating system behaviour, permissions, battery settings, time zone changes, internet connectivity, app updates, service outages, and other factors outside our control.
You remain responsible for managing important dates, appointments, medications, treatments, and care obligations. Do not rely on Pet Note as your only reminder system for urgent, medical, medication, legal, financial, insurance, or time-sensitive matters.
8. Care Insights and Preview Features
Pet Note may provide care summaries, trends, scores, suggested questions, dashboard previews, or similar informational features.
These features are not diagnoses, treatment plans, veterinary opinions, risk assessments, insurance advice, financial advice, or guarantees about a pet's condition. They are intended to help you organise information and prepare questions for a professional.
Some features may be experimental, in preview, incomplete, or based on sample data. We may change, limit, suspend, or remove these features at any time.
9. AI Features
Pet Note may include features that use artificial intelligence, machine learning, automated processing, or similar technologies ("AI Features") to help organise notes, summarise pet care records, identify possible patterns, draft suggested questions, or prepare care briefs.
AI Features are provided for convenience and general organisation only. AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate for your pet's circumstances. They may also reflect errors, omissions, or assumptions in the information you provide.
You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs before relying on, saving, sharing, or acting on them. You must not treat AI outputs as veterinary advice, diagnosis, treatment advice, medication guidance, dosage guidance, emergency advice, insurance advice, or a substitute for professional judgment.
You should not enter unnecessary sensitive personal information, payment details, government identification numbers, passwords, or information about other people unless it is relevant and you have the right to provide it. We may use service providers to help deliver AI Features, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Where permitted by law and our Privacy Policy, we may use aggregated, anonymised, or de-identified information to evaluate, improve, and develop Pet Note and AI Features. We will not use identifiable private pet records, pet photos, personal information, veterinary records, insurance details, or other identifiable User Content to train public-facing AI models or unrelated third-party AI systems without appropriate notice and, where required, your consent.
AI Features may be provided by us or by service providers acting on our behalf. You should not enter information into AI Features unless you are comfortable with that information being processed to provide the requested output and handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
If an AI output appears unsafe, offensive, inaccurate, or otherwise concerning, you should not rely on it. You may report the output through any in-app reporting feature we provide or by contacting us at john@petnote.io.
We may limit, suspend, modify, or remove AI Features at any time, including where we believe an output may be unsafe, unlawful, unreliable, or inconsistent with the purpose of Pet Note.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use Pet Note for unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, or fraudulent purposes;
- upload content that infringes another person's rights;
- submit false, defamatory, harassing, hateful, violent, exploitative, or unlawful content;
- upload malware or attempt to interfere with the Service;
- access or attempt to access accounts, systems, data, or infrastructure without permission;
- reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or exploit the Service except where law allows;
- use Pet Note to provide professional veterinary, medical, legal, insurance, or financial advice unless you are properly qualified and solely responsible for that advice;
- store unnecessary sensitive personal information, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, passwords, or other information that should not be stored in a pet care app.
11. Privacy
Your use of Pet Note is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://www.petnote.io/privacy-policy.html.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information associated with the Service.
You are responsible for the information you choose to enter into Pet Note, including information about yourself, household members, veterinarians, clinics, insurers, and other people.
You are also responsible for managing device permissions, notification settings, app store privacy controls, and account deletion tools available through your device, operating system, or app store account.
12. Third-Party Services
Pet Note may rely on or integrate with third-party services, including app stores, authentication providers, hosting providers, database providers, storage providers, notification services, analytics tools, support tools, feedback tools, payment processors, and external websites.
We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, security, content, policies, terms, fees, outages, or actions.
Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
13. App Store Terms
If you download Pet Note through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another app marketplace, your use of the app may also be subject to that marketplace's terms, policies, and licence requirements.
For Apple users: these Terms are between you and Wondertree, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Pet Note or its content. Wondertree is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for Pet Note, to the extent required by applicable law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Pet Note.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wondertree is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law. If Pet Note fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to Pet Note.
Wondertree, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Pet Note or your possession and use of Pet Note, including product liability claims, claims that Pet Note fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
If a third party claims that Pet Note or your possession and use of Pet Note infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Wondertree, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country or region subject to a United States Government embargo, or designated by the United States Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using Pet Note, including your mobile network, device, operating system, app store, and sign-in provider terms.
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your use of the iOS app. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
For Google Play users: Google Play's terms, policies, payment rules, refund processes, subscription controls, and family-sharing rules may apply to your download, purchase, subscription, or use of Pet Note through Google Play.
14. Paid Features, Subscriptions, and Refunds
Pet Note may offer free features and paid features. Paid features may include subscriptions, one-time purchases, trials, premium tools, or other paid plans.
Prices, billing periods, renewal terms, and included features will be shown before purchase where required.
If you purchase through Apple, Google, or another app store, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are generally handled by that app store under its own terms and policies. You are responsible for managing subscriptions through the applicable app store account settings.
Unless required by law or stated at purchase, payments are non-refundable and subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled.
15. Software Licence
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use Pet Note for personal or household pet care record-keeping.
You may not sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, modify, copy, or create derivative works from Pet Note except as allowed by law or expressly permitted by us.
We retain all rights, title, and interest in Pet Note, including software, design, branding, logos, trademarks, interfaces, systems, and content we provide.
16. Service Availability and Changes
We may update, modify, suspend, limit, replace, or discontinue any part of Pet Note at any time.
The Service may be unavailable, delayed, interrupted, degraded, or inaccurate due to maintenance, updates, outages, connectivity issues, provider failures, security incidents, device behaviour, or events outside our reasonable control.
We also reserve the right to suspend or permanently shut down Pet Note, in whole or in part, if we reasonably determine that it is no longer practical, commercially viable, affordable, secure, lawful, or operationally possible for us to continue running it. Where practical, we will try to provide reasonable notice before discontinuing a material part of the Service, but we may act sooner where needed for legal, security, safety, provider, cost, or operational reasons.
You may need to install updates to continue using Pet Note.
17. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect the Service, but no app, website, database, or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for securing your device, email account, app store account, sign-in providers, operating system, local backups, and network.

18. Account Deletion and Termination
You may stop using Pet Note at any time. You may also use in-app account deletion tools where available, visit Delete Your Pet Note Account, or contact us for deletion support.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for the Service or others, failed to pay applicable fees, used the Service unlawfully, or if required for legal, security, operational, or compliance reasons.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, delete, or terminate any account, content, or access connected with misuse of Pet Note, including abuse, fraud, harassment, unlawful conduct, attempts to interfere with the Service, attempts to access data or systems without permission, repeated unsafe use of AI Features, or any use that creates risk for users, pets, service providers, app stores, or Pet Note.
After account deletion or termination, your right to use the Service ends. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, app store records, legal records, fraud-prevention records, support records, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.
19. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pet Note is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that Pet Note will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, complete, current, compatible with every device, or suitable for your particular needs.
We do not guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted, delayed, unavailable, or accidentally deleted.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, warranty, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or aggravated damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, records, business opportunity, anticipated savings, or pet health outcomes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of:
- the amount you paid us for Pet Note in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- AUD $100.
Some laws do not allow certain limitations. If those laws apply, our liability is limited only to the maximum extent permitted.
21. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pet Note, its owners, employees, contractors, service providers, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of another person's rights.
22. Governing Law
Except where local law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
The courts located in New South Wales, Australia will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under consumer protection laws that apply regardless of this clause.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the effective date, posting the updated Terms, or providing an in-app notice.
Your continued use of Pet Note after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using Pet Note and may delete your account.
